Eutelsat's KabelKiosk grow
KabelKiosk, the German direct-to-cable platform provided by satellite operator Eutelsat, reports
strong growth of its basic package Basis HD.
Around one year after its launch, a large number of the cable operators served by KabelKiosk have started distributing the free-TV bouquet to their customers as their basic line-up of digital TV channels, according to the company.
"Basis HD" is encrypted in VideoGuard and Conax and, through common interface technology CI+, enables reception directly through the TV SET without the need for a separate set-top-box.
The package currently contains 35 free-to-air TV channels in standard resolution including the large commercial broadcasters, thematic channels and foreign services, as well as five HD channels operated by the two large commercial TV groups. KabelKiosk plans to further expand the bouquet by adding new channels both in standard and high definition.
