Eutelsat Kabelkiosk to introduce CI Plus module
Eutelsat’s headend-in-the-sky service Kabelkiosk will introduce its own CI Plus module to be used in cable (DVB-C) tuners. The module will be available in retail for a price of around €79.
During a press meeting in Berlin, a spokesperson for Eutelsat confirmed the plans for a Kabelkiosk CI Plus module for NDS and Conax encryption. Viewers who subscribe to Kabelkiosk channels via their LOCAL CABLE network will be able to receive these channels with a CI Plus compatible TV set, the module and the necessary smart card.
This March, Kabelkiosk will also launch a CI Plus module for its digital terrestrial pay-TV servise Viseo +, which offers the RTL channels RTL, Vox, RTL2 and Super-RTL on a subscription basis to viewers in the Stuttgart and Halle/Leipzig regions.
In a related development, Eutelsat Kabelkiosk has announced the arrival of the German BonGusto lifestyle channel, which specialises in food. From February 15, the channel will become part of the Lifestyle, Doku & News and FamilyXL packages.
