PrimaCom offers CI+ module

German cable operator PrimaCom has commenced offering its customers the possibility to receive its encrypted digital TV line-up without a separate set-top-box (STB).

The owners of flat-screen TV SETS containing an inbuilt DIGITAL CABLE receiver with a common interface slot (CI) can now purchase a CI+ module from the CABLE COMPANY for €79.

In conjunction with a PrimaCom smartcard viewers will gain access to around 200 TV and radio channels including the HD versions of the large commercial broadcasters. For customers wanting to record TV channels and use time-shifted television PrimaCom offers a personal VIDEO RECORDER for €299.
